Reviews like that seriously piss me off because they arent fair to the readers, the authors, or the websites trying to rate the books. ~getting down from soapbox~Ahhhh. Does the Da Vinci Code Really Exist & is it True or Fictional? When a longtime friend asked me what I thought about the controversial book and movie, The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown, I started looking at columnist's reviews about it in light of what is known about Jesus in historical documents and Biblical manuscripts. 13: 23, 19: 26, 20: 2) ? I usually try not to read reviews of books while I am writing them, however, this was one I wanted to get a good feel for what others thought before I reviewed it. For example, we know the main character, Robert Langdon, is a brilliant Harvard symbologist. While some reviewers have very good points on both the love and hate sides, many of the negative reviews are from people who havent even read the book, who just object to the slant taken on the religious aspects of the book. Langdon suspects they are on the hunt for a breathtaking historical secret, one that has proven through the centuries to be as enlightening as it is dangerous. Some of the plot twists and turns, I never saw coming. I hardly ever read mystery/thriller books and this was a nice intro. If it makes you happy, just do that.
